Full Moon Yoga: What it is and Why it's Special

Full moon yoga is a practice that takes place during the full moon phase, which is said to have a special energy and influence on our bodies and minds. So, what is full moon yoga? Essentially, it’s a yoga practice that is designed to harness the energy of the full moon. The full moon is a time of heightened energy, and many people believe that this energy can be channeled into our yoga practice to help us connect more deeply with ourselves and the world around us.

During full moon yoga, we often practice more slowly and mindfully, taking time to connect with our breath and our bodies. We may also focus on poses that help us to cultivate a sense of balance and stability, both physically and mentally. Our full moon yoga classes may also incorporate elements of meditation, chanting, or other practices that help us to connect with the energy of the full moon.

Why do we do yoga during the full moon time differently?

As mentioned, the full moon is a time of heightened energy, and practicing yoga during this time can help us to tap into that energy and use it to deepen our practice. It’s also said that practicing yoga during the full moon can help us to release old patterns and emotions that no longer serve us, allowing us to move forward with a sense of clarity and purpose.

Noted: We offer Full Moon Yoga classes on special new and full moon days. Please note that this class is not held regularly. On Mondays and Fridays, the class takes place at Manoel Island, while on Wednesdays it is held at Sliema Chalet. The schedule is subject to change based on the dates of the full moon or new moon.

Cancellation Policy

If you need to cancel for any reason, we require at least 6 hours advance notice, the full amount will be credited to your account at Yoga Malta (must be used within a month). This credit can be used towards any yoga class offered.

If you cancel less than 6 hours prior to the class, you will be charged the full amount and you will not be entitled to a refund or credit note.

Is this class for you?

Our yoga class is inclusive and personalized to multiple levels. Our instructors provide modifications and variations to accommodate your needs. We create a safe and supportive environment for everyone to practice and grow. All levels are welcome.

Do I need to bring my yoga mat?

Yes, you are requested to bring your own yoga mat, for reasons of hygiene, energy and ecology.
