Yin Yang Yoga is a unique yoga practice that combines elements of both Yin and Yang Yoga. Yin Yoga is a slower, more meditative practice that focuses on the body’s connective tissues, including ligaments, tendons, and fascia, with long holds in passive stretches. In contrast, Yang Yoga is a more active and dynamic practice that targets the muscles and blood flow, building strength, stamina and flexibility. Yang styles of yoga are those with rhythm and repetition like Vinyasa Flow.
There is no better way to relax and unwind in the end of the week than joining our Friday sunset class, releasing all physical and emotional stress, creating space in the body, calming down the nervous system and rebalancing the energy before stepping into the weekend! It is a combo of slow yoga poses held for longer, working deep in the muscles and more active poses working on blood flow, stamina and flexibility.
Yin Yang Yoga is a great fit if you enjoy both slow and active practices, want to balance strength and flexibility, or want to complement other activities. Its emphasis on passive stretches and mindfulness makes it a unique and versatile practice. Remember, everyone’s body and yoga journey are unique. The best way to determine if Yin Yang Yoga is right for you is to try it out!
How to find our yoga spot on Manoel Island:
We will gather in front of Manoel Fort 15 min before the class starts. Upon passing through the security gate, you will encounter three roads. Take a right turn and follow the road along the right-hand side (next to the wall). It’s roughly an 8-minute walk to reach the spot.
